The Boot Room Resurgence

With the cold winter weather finally upon us, in this article we’ve decided to focus on the resurgence of the boot room (or the conversion of underused space in our homes to such a purpose) which in turn has led us to designing some beautiful custom furniture for this purpose.

We all love to wrap-up warm and have a walk in the snow in the winter, or to kick up some leaves in the autumn, but there is often a price to be paid when we return to our beautiful homes with the inevitable mud and moisture that travels back in with us.

The answer for many lies in a boot room, and a Johnsons boot room is designed to fit around your lifestyle, with bespoke storage for coats, scarfs, hats and umbrellas. We can provide comfortable bench seating with storage incorporated for boots and wellies. Another great feature of our boot rooms can be for your four-legged family members, with cupboards for dog paraphernalia and we can incorporate a raised dog bed in same finish, or even provide a dog shower area.

Tongued and grooved wall panelling to match or contrast with doors can be painted or pre-finished in a colour of your choice, designed for easy cleaning and finished in a choice of door styles and handles/knobs. In the image above, you can see an example of a beautiful pre-finished wood grain effect door, which most importantly for use within a boot room, is both moisture resistant and wipeable.

Additional options to complete your boot room are tiled flooring with thermostatic underfloor heating, and built in matting for those really muddy boots.
